Drones are a lot more than a toy! Here is a quick look into how Drones keep your audience engaged across the board.
Scale:
Unlike static shots, a drone uses movement to reveal the scale of your film location. If it’s a skyscraper etc. the drone captures the sheer scale from a different perspective, very different to us looking up. When people or ordinary objects are juxtaposed with large equipment or buildings the viewers get a better sense of the magnitude of the item you are highlighting.
Perspective:
Perspective is key, capturing angles nobody else can see. Cameramen nowadays capture the angles most people already have, a drone cuts all of that out and gives your video an entirely new outlook. A different perspective is always more visually attractive.
Safe:
Safety is often a top concern, but with a drone, you can give clients an all-access pass to see how your equipment and film shoot will work out, without putting them in harm’s way. Drones also eliminate the risk of any of your film crew being injured. Different angles and shots that would normally require a crane, ladder, gimble, hummingbird helicopter or any other equipment, are very accessible by drone. The simplest and safest way to shoot is by drone although some accessibility is restricted by airspace.
Point Of View Is First Person:
Drones offer a unique opportunity to tell a story from your customers point of view. Traditional cameras can make it difficult to show this perspective, requiring expensive equipment for a smooth crisp shot that won’t cause motion sickness. Drones remove the need for an expensive kit for seamless shots from a clients perspective.
Special Events:
If thousands of people were attending your event, you would want to show that in a breathtaking and elaborated format, right? There is no better way to show a birds-eye view of a crowd or event. Video’s or stills can be used to reiterate the success of your event. Capture the crowd at your next live music event, trade show or construction site.
Movement:
Static shots sometimes aren’t as interesting when they are compared to the moving image. A pan or a zoom can add some life to your video, however, a drone will give you endless options in terms of the tools you have at hand. Here at Keyhole Creative, we have been able to produce fast-paced videos that quickly highlight these benefits to our clients. Strategically placed in different locations to maximize and utilize the product which you can then present to your audience. Drones make a big impression on our clients and potential customers.
Cost-effective investment:
Good quality drone footage is full of multi-purpose uses. Drones can be used for a different variety of materials making this a smart and wise investment for many companies wanting to expand their audience today. The cost to hire a small yet highly qualified group, to shoot a top of the range drone footage like ourselves is far less expensive, far less expensive than the need for cranes, helicopters and other equipment that was once needed to carry out eye capturing angles. If you are already making the investment to create a branding video, adding a drone will dramatically raise the quality and potential of your video without adding much more to your budget
Environmental impact:
If you are shooting in an environmentally sensitive location such as a nature reserve, a zoo, or a lake, for example, drones are the best option in terms of being environmentally friendly. With no camera crew stepping on precious land or causing damage tot he natural environment. A drone is pretty much harmless only a buzzing sound many feet above in the air. The only footprint being the rechargeable batteries and is a modest carbon footprint for this level of return. If you are looking to go hard or go home with any video, Drones are a very smart choice here.
I caught up with our professional video crew Ewan and Saffron. They mentioned that;
“ With the development of drones in the past years, film-making will never be the same, drones allow us to achieve shots which previously thought impossible. Along with its easy user interface, the 4K image quality is hard to match putting drones like the DJI Mavric in league with most professional filming cameras, the cinematic shots which we are able to achieve are simply stunning.”
We are releasing highlights of some Drone footage we have captured over the last year and combined this into a few minutes so you can really get a feel for how using Keyhole Drones can be of benefit to you.
